Escapes in Scotland

Start your Scottish holiday here

Let us plan your unique trip – from wildlife boat rides around forgotten Scottish islands, to private whisky tasting in the heart of Speyside. We can arrange accommodation, transport, experiences and of course our own mountain guiding, fly-fishing and yoga instruction for the trip too. Check out some ideas below, or our instagram page for more inspiration.

Having walked, climbed and fished across Scotland for the last 20 years there aren’t many corners of this amazing little country that we haven’t visited.

Road Trip

The best way to explore Scotland is by car. We help you plan the ultimate Scottish road trip. You will have heard of the NC500, and yes it is stunning, but everyone knows about it! There are some equally amazing road tips that we can help you plan for the ultimate escape. We will work with you to tailor a trip to meet your timeframe, budget and what you are looking to get out of a holiday. From wild camping to luxury hotels and everything in between.

For an example itinerary please take a look at our Royal Deeside adventure where we’ve combined a road trip with some of our own guiding services.

Don’t fancy doing all the driving? We can help with that too! Bespoke trips to suit all your needs.

Castles, stags, whisky, leaping salmon, pointy mountains, empty white beaches and roaring fires guaranteed. Get in touch to unlock some local knowledge and plan your dream trip.

Activity Holidays

This is our jam. Multiple days spent in the Scottish outdoors, either touring around the country or from an appropriate base, always experiencing the best Scotland has to offer. Our activity holidays are a great way to get off the beaten track and see the real Scotland, making unforgettable memories along the way. We’ve fished, climbed, walked, surfed and camped our way into almost every corner of Scotland and are able to offer valuable advice on where to go to match your requirements. Either a week of one activity or a mixture of activities… you can find a non-exhaustive list below!

Hill Walking

The perfect way to explore certain regions of Scotland, either just a hill or two as part of a wider road trip, or multiple hill days from a local base. Working with Mark, our qualified Mountain Leader, you can agree on the best hills to tie in with your holiday. We help you find and book quality local accommodation based on our own experiences, leaving you free to enjoy the wilderness on foot. We can either give advice on hills, or offer guided hill days, see more info on our guided mountain walks here.

A hill walking escape works really well with our yoga offering, and depending on location we can offer a rural retreat with yoga practice to start and end the day. We run several specialist events like this throughout the year. Follow us on instagram to stay updated.

Yoga

Take time for yourself and your body with our experienced yoga instruction. We tailor yoga sessions to meet your specific needs, whether it’s an introduction to the practice or working with you to deepen and develop your own personal practice. See here for our yoga offering.

We offer weekend yoga retreats where you can escape to the beautiful Scottish countryside while combining yoga postures, breath work and meditation for a holistic weekend of rejuvenation.

Or why not include yoga in your activity holiday, letting us guide you through an awakening yoga practice to start the morning, or a much-needed stretch down at the end of a day in the hills.

Follow our yoga page on instagram for more information and contact us with enquiries.

Fly-Fishing

We have fished in over 30 rivers across Scotland for salmon and countless hill lochs for trout. From the famous River Tweed in the Scottish Borders to estuary sea-trout on the north coast, we advise on where is best and at what time of year.

In addition to offering advice and booking fishing for guests, we also offer a full guiding service and can teach beginners who have never cast a line before, right through to helping experienced anglers fine tune their technique. Enhance your Scottish holiday by including a couple of days fishing for different species in the itinerary.

Fieldsports

Fieldsports are an important part of Scotland’s heritage and the conservation of numerous wildlife habitats. At Sea River Hill we have vast knowledge of the sustainable game shooting and deer stalking available across the country.

Let us help organise a days stalking or shooting for individuals or a team of guns. This could be part of a DIY week or through an estate lodge – both of which we can organise for you.

If game isn’t on the menu, we can also arrange clay pigeon shooting.

Lots more…

While we specialise in the above activities and can be actively involved in them, we also have access to a number of other specialist activities to suit your needs. Please just get in touch!

  • Whisky tasting
  • Golf
  • Mountain biking
  • Skiing
  • Rock / winter climbing
  • Watersports / sailing
  • Wildlife tours
  • Highland games
  • and many more…

Some Examples…

We’ve pulled together a couple of examples of what a holiday planned by us could look like. Both of these include multiple destinations across a specific part of Scotland, and include some of our own guiding to show what could be possible. The important thing to remember is that these are just examples and we can tailor your trip to suit your party’s requirements.
